We’re only 3 days from the big day and I can feel the chaotic energy of Christmas. Personally, I’ve been trying to stay off the roads and out of big crowds as much as possible to keep some sort of peace within my soul.
My husband has to drive all day for work and he’s been surrounded by road rage, traffic and just overall angry people and has been aggravated about consumption and materialism (probably from social media). Pretty sure this is what happened to the Grinch to make him want to live in a cave alone.
I feel blessed to be in a place where I have everything I need. Sure, we could all be in better shape physically, financially, mentally, but we’re all here. If you’re a mom, the kids don’t need one more gift from the store. Save your energy and make them hot cocoa and turn on a good Christmas movie instead. Spend time together and make it count.
Also, let’s embrace the chaos of Christmas and large family gatherings & throw away expectations. No one will remember that dinner was served 1 hour late or that you forgot the rolls. Give guests some snacks and shake that stress off.
Now, onto the recipes….I’ve got a fully packed email of my Christmas favorites from morning until night, so let’s get to it!
Christmas Breakfast
I’m all about easy and simple Christmas breakfast and that means Casseroles! These are my two favorites & making both of them means you will have both savory and sweet options.
Ham, Egg & Hashbrown Casserole
It’s easy, cheesy and best of all only takes 10 minutes to prep and involves chopping an onion. The best kind of breakfast casserole!
The Video
Next up is my ever so popular Brioche French Toast Casserole. This one takes all of 5 minutes to prep and it’s always a crowd favorite. Top with with maple syrup, berries, whipped cream and more!
If you’re not into either of these, check out these Hawaiian Roll Sliders, which are packed full of bacon, egg, cheese and a special sauce! These require a bit more work than the casserole, but are still pretty easy.
Appetizers
I’m skipping lunch because we usually eat a big breakfast, then start making appetizers throughout the day and have an early dinner. It was tricky to get the list down, but these are my 3 must have Christmas appetizers.
My friends and family beg me to bring these cocktail meatballs coated in a sweet and sour sauce to every Holiday event, especially for Christmas Eve!
A baked brie recipe has to be on the list and this is a newer recipe with garlic and herbs. It’s so easy and delicious!
These Bacon Cream Cheese Rolls are a must have recipe from my hubby’s side of the family. They are only 3 ingredients, made with crescent rolls and are stuffed full of flavor.
Christmas Dinner
For a traditional dinner, try this Double Smoked Ham or Traeger Turkey Breast.
For Christmas sides, there are so many favorites from White Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese, Caramelized Brussels Sprouts, to Classic Red Skinned Potatoes and Glazed Carrots.
Sweets
I’m a huge fan of serving make ahead Christmas desserts or baked goods because at this point I’m exhausted and I’m trying to chill.
Here are some of my favorite make ahead desserts.
Crescent Roll Cream Cheese Danishes
Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispies
I hope everyone has a Wonderful Christmas with friends and family. I’m so thankful for my readers and I appreciate each and everyone of you. Talk to you next week, before the New Year. I’ll have lots of healthy recipes and easy dinners coming up soon.
Happy Cooking and Merry Christmas~
