I love Football, but not just the sport. It’s more about the changing of seasons, and my love for comfort food. It starts in the form of appetizers, but will quickly move to soups and stews, and then I’m all in by the time Thanksgiving hits.
Sometimes I want to live somewhere with warm weather all year, but you do have to appreciate the seasons. Pretty soon, it will be time to head to the Mountains for Apple picking, which is one of the best times of the year.
This week, I’ve been working on so many new appetizers and I can’t wait to share them with you.
Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings
When people ask me about buying an air fryer, I say yes. Honestly, if you just make chicken wings in it, it’s worth the $50 dollar investment. I can’t be doing the deep frying wings in my kitchen thing. My hood over my oven doesn’t even work (apparently my husband just wanted it for looks). When you have a husband in construction, construction never gets done in your own home. It will be a greasy mess and I’m not here for that.
Chicken wings get so crispy in the air fryer. I don’t know how it’s even possible, and they only take 25 minutes to make.
Let's take a moment to talk about the sauce on these because well, it deserves more than a moment. Minced garlic is sautéed in butter, and fresh parmigiano cheese and mayo are added in to thicken the sauce. Then, parsley is added for freshness. It’s honestly like the best garlic bread I’ve ever had meets crispy chicken wings.

Mango Habanero Salsa
It’s sweet, spicy and could be my new favorite salsa. Habanero, red onion, and jalapeno are oven roasted, then the seeds are removed. They’re pureed with mango, cilantro, lime juice & it just has the best flavors. It’s even better the next day.
Jalapeno Dip
Let’s conținue the heat with this jalapeño dip. It’s vegetarian, but you certainly add in ground beef or sausage, and I give those directions in the recipe post. It has rotel and cream cheese for that classic dip everyone’s looking for during a football game.
It’s made in 25 minutes in just one skillet, then served hot with tortilla chips or crackers.
That's it for this week! Let me know if you make any of these over the weekend. Happy Cooking!
