I love the fun kid treats for Halloween and get completely disturbed by hands covered in prosciutto and fake brains made from jello or rice krispies. Seriously..ewww! I don’t want any of those in my kitchen.
Luckily my 13 year old hates scary things too. She went to an Amusement park a few weekends ago, that they basically make a huge haunted house, and never wants to go back. I was laughing so hard because that’s exactly how I was growing up. Also, you know she went with a friend’s parent because I’m not stepping foot into that arena.
If you have little kids or just scared ones like me, try out some of these fun Halloween treats. If you aren’t into Halloween themed treats, scroll to the bottom for some of my favorite Halloween hosting recipes.

If you have friends or family coming over or you’re just planning to go out in the neighborhood, chili is always a great idea to make on Halloween. It’s easy to prep ahead and filling enough to where you don’t have to make much more food.
Make a topping bar with cornbread, cheese, jalapeño, sour cream, diced tomatoes, cilantro and avocado. Everyone can help themselves and you can keep the chili on low on the stovetop or in the crockpot.
This Dutch Oven Chili Recipe is packed with flavor & just a touch of heat. It only takes 15 minutes to prep and builds flavor in the dutch oven as it simmers. This is a classic recipe that goes really well with all the toppings mentioned.
For a less classic chili, but equally delicious, here is a Green Chicken Chili Soup. It’s super easy to prep and uses rotisserie chicken. For the topping bar with this one, use jalapeño, sour cream, tortilla chips, lime, cilantro and avocado.
