School’s Out for Summer
School is officially out! My youngest kiddo has been obsessed with the Alice Cooper song “School’s out for Summer” for the past few months. Yesterday, she begged me to play it loud at school drop off, but chickened out and turned it off before we got to the teachers. I love her.
Today is her 8th birthday and she’s obsessed with gnomes, like has a collection of over 100 kind of obsessed. I’m about to get into the kitchen and attempt to create a giant cupcake pull apart gnome. Hopefully it doesn’t turn into an epic pinterest fail.
Crunchy Salads
There’s nothing better in Summer humidity than a crunchy salad tossed in a light dressing. My first salad is inspired by the viral tiktok video that I watched 27 million times last Summer, but never actually made it until now.
This is a Grinder Salad, which combines fresh crunchy iceberg lettuce with spicy pepperoncini, banana peppers, red onion and is tossed in a red wine vinaigrette. Then, it's loaded with deli meats and my personal favorite addition, provolone cheese!

Crunchy Salad #2
This Caesar Salad is another refreshing crunchy love of mine for Summer. The homemade dressing takes 10 minutes to make and it doesn’t have any stinky anchovies or anchovy paste in it. The classic Caesar taste comes from the Worcestershire sauce, which actually contains anchovies. All it takes for the salad is romaine hearts, shaved parmesan reggiano cheese, croutons and the homemade dressing. So easy!
That’s it for today! Right now, we are still planning for our Maine trip Thursday in hopes that the air pollution will be okay. Sending love to any of you that have been affected by the fires.
Have a great rest of your weekend and don’t forget to send me good wishes for the cake decorating, that I am not skilled in.
