Thank you
Thank you to the brave men and women, and the families of those, who lost their lives for our freedom & to everyone who has served to protect us. Let us REMEMBER what this weekend is truly about and not allow that to get lost. Sometimes I feel awkward sharing recipes on days like this because it feels of such small importance. I hope they inspire the gathering of family and friends and sharing time with those you love.
Cooking for a Crowd
If you’re cooking for a crowd, I have some favorites. These Philly Cheesesteaks are fresh off the griddle and this recipe can be doubled, tripled, or quadrupled if you have a large Blackstone.
The Video
Another favorite for Memorial Day weekend are these Smash Burgers. I’ve even got a special sauce on the blog to go with them, and they are smothered in caramelized onions & cheese. Simply put, these are the Best Burgers!
Summer Sides
Wow, Spring certainly came and went. I’ve been so busy driving the kids around to school and sporting events, I don’t even know what day it is. I’m always down with Summer though. Out of all the seasons, it has the best vibes. Until the mosquitoes come & choose me as their victim. More of that on another day.
I’m loving this Hawaiian Macaroni Salad right now. It’s tangy and also has good vibes.
This Blackened Corn is also a great side dish for Summer. It’s got a little heat to it and is full of flavor!
Dessert
Can’t forget dessert, especially on a holiday weekend. To be honest with you, I’m not huge on baking and usually my dessert gets overlooked by extensive dinners that leave people overeating and no longer hungry. However, don’t take that as I don’t love sweets, because I DO! Never met a donut I didn’t like.
This Cream Cheese Fruit Dip is one of my most loved appetizers and desserts, because I serve it randomly for either or at gatherings. My kids go nuts over it!
That’s all until next week! It’s almost June, which means our Maine trip is right around the corner. Yay.
Let’s talk soon & have a wonderful weekend!
